Your day concludes with an authentic dinner in a charming riad.
Fes to Merzouga – Middle Atlas and Ziz Valley
Today’s long journey carries you south, crossing the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, keep an eye out for Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. After a stop for lunch in Midelt, the landscape dramatically transforms. Specifically, you will descend into the beautiful Ziz Valley, which shelters a lush ribbon of palm groves. As evening approaches, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi will signal your arrival in Merzouga.
Merzouga Desert Adventure – Nomads & Luxury Camp
The adventure begins with a thrilling $4times4$ excursion to explore the Sahara’s vast and beautiful expanse. This immersion connects you with the region’s deep culture: First, you will listen to hypnotic Gnawa rhythms in Khamlia village. Then, you will share mint tea with a nomadic family in their tent. Later in the afternoon, you’ll trade wheels for a camel trek. This journey guides you across sculpted dunes to a spectacular sunset, arriving at a secluded luxury camp for an unforgettable night under the stars.
Merzouga to Dades Valley – Sunrise and Gorges
Awaken to an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes. Following breakfast, your journey continues towards the magnificent Todra Gorge. Once there, you can take a memorable walk, strolling between its colossal 300 meter-high canyon walls. From there, you will travel onward to the scenic Dades Valley, famed for its dramatic landscapes and unique rock formations, where you will spend the night.
Dades Valley a Marrakech – Kasbahs and High Atlas
The day begins by admiring the Dades Valley’s unique formations. Then, your route follows the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Your next stop is the iconic Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site. Finally, you will ascend the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains. This stunning drive leads you to the vibrant city of Marrakech.
